Wacky Wednesday
This was inspired by the book written by Dr Seuss.
Room 5 children learnt to take a risk by dressing up in an unusual way. 
At the end of the day we created our own Wacky Pictures.

Car Safety

We learnt about:
sitting in a booster seat till you are seven years old
wearing seat belts
get out of the car and into the car on the footpath side
check before you open the door
do not distract the driver

Sit still in the car. We were able to sit in the police car.

We dressed up in a police uniform.

Road Safety

Constable Jude came to our class and taught us about how we can be safe when we cross the road.
We learnt to Stop, look, listen before we use our feet. Then we went outside to have a real life experience. We need to keep to the house side when we walk down the road.

We looked both ways as we crossed.

When we walk down the road we need to look down driveways and towards the road using our senses of sight, hear and smell  to check for signs of vehicles.

We practised crossing the road by ourselves and used the skill we had learnt.

We returned to school being more wise about keeping ourselves safe when we are walking down the road.
